Joshua Nasiatka, affectionately known by students and staff as “Mr. Nas,” has been a proud member of the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD community since 2017. He began his career as a teacher at Vivian Field Middle School before moving into campus leadership as an assistant principal and later principal of Sheffield Elementary School. Throughout his career, Mr. Nas has been passionate about building strong relationships, creating systems that support student learning, and empowering teachers through instructional leadership. He is committed to creating school communities where every student feels valued, challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.
Mr. Nas is honored to serve as principal of McWhorter Elementary School and lead the Coyote Pack. He is excited to build upon the great work already happening at McWhorter while learning alongside the students, staff, families, and community who make the campus special. He believes relationships are at the heart of great schools and that a strong Pack grows through trust, collaboration, high expectations, and a shared commitment to student success.
His goal is to create opportunities for every Coyote to grow, succeed, and discover what is possible for their future. As a leader, Mr. Nas strives to be collaborative, trustworthy, encouraging, and optimistic while ensuring that every member of the Pack knows they are valued and that their contributions matter.
Mr. Nas earned his Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas. He and his wife, Aryka, are the proud parents of Joshua Jr. and Joslyn, who inspire their commitment to faith, community, and education each day.
I am honored to serve as an assistant principal at McWhorter Elementary. I bring four years of leadership experience, including three within Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, and I am proud to be a product of CFB schools.
I deeply value the strong sense of community that defines CFB and look forward to continuing to grow alongside the McWhorter family. In my personal time, I enjoy reading, traveling, and spending time with my dog.
My name is Sarah Sanchez, and I am thrilled to be returning to McWhorter! I have more than 20 years of experience in education and joined the CFBISD family in 2020. I previously served as Assistant Principal at Sheffield and have also had the opportunity to serve at Central and McWhorter Elementary.
I am excited to reconnect with the McWhorter community and look forward to building strong relationships with our students, families, and staff. By working together, I know we can create a supportive learning environment where every child is encouraged to grow, succeed, and reach their full potential.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Texas Woman’s University, a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and my Educational Administration certification from Stephen F. Austin State University.
