Attendance
Attendance Matters
Classroom attendance is tied to classroom success. When students are absent, they miss opportunities to learn, build friendships, and develop skills and attitudes needed to become good citizens. Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD encourages students to be at school every day, be on time every day and stay all day. The fact is that attendance raises a student’s chance of scoring well on exams and securing college admission. Did you know that high school graduates earn 38% more than those who drop out and college graduates bring in 140% more!
How to Report an Absence
We want to make it as easy as possible for families to report an absence. Please choose one of the following options:
- Attendance Website – Submit an absence online through our School Absence Note. (Preferred Option)
- ParentSquare – Report the absence using the ParentSquare attendance notification that was sent.
- Doctor’s Note or Parent Note – Send a written note (paper copy) to the school’s Attendance Office.
Important: Absences must be reported within 3 school days. Doctor’s notes should include the student’s full name, date(s) of absence, and the physician’s signature. Parent notes should include your child’s name, date(s) absent, reason for absence, and parent/guardian signature.
If you have any questions, please contact your school’s Attendance Office.
