On Tuesday, January 13th, Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD hosted its annual District Spelling Bee, bringing together top spellers from across the district. Each campus held its own spelling bee earlier in the year, and the winners earned the opportunity to advance to the district level.
The McWhorter Coyotes proudly represented their campus after winning the campus spelling bee in November. Excited and prepared, they took on the challenge of the district competition, where winners continue on the road to the prestigious Scripps National Spelling Bee.
McWhorter Elementary had an outstanding showing with two students earning top honors. In the third-grade District Spelling Bee, Manuel captured 1st place and will advance to the regional round. In the fourth-grade competition, Juan earned the runner-up spot, showcasing his impressive spelling skills.
Both Coyotes have been preparing since November and demonstrated remarkable determination and perseverance throughout the process. Their success is a true example that hard work pays off.
