McWhorter Elementary was filled with music, color, and culture as students and staff came together to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a special performance from the Polk Middle School Mariachi Band!
The band, dressed in traditional charro outfits, performed mariachi songs that had students clapping along and dancing in their seats. The celebration didn’t stop there—McWhorter's own choir, percussion, and fifth grade students also took the stage to share songs, rhythms and a dance inspired by Latin American music.
The event helped students learn more about the rich traditions of Hispanic communities and the important role music plays in sharing stories and history.
