McWhorter Elementary will be celebrating Read Across America Week happening March 2nd- March 6th!
This year, our theme is inspired by a classic American anthem: "This Land Was Made For You and Me."
To celebrate our love of reading and the diversity of our country, each day will highlight a place from the song.

MONDAY: “from California...” : We are traveling to the Golden State where the sun shines bright. Wear your sunglasses!
TUESDAY: “...to the New York Island.” : Next stop, The Big Apple! We have business to take care of, so find a tie and wear it to school.
WEDNESDAY: “From the Redwood forests...” : Let’s take a hike through the Redwood Forest. Wear your workout gear.
THURSDAY: “...to the Gulf stream waters...” : Last stop, the beach! Wear a tropical shirt or a hat to ward off the sun.
FRIDAY: "...this land was made for you and me.” : Read outside for 15 minutes while sitting or lying on the ground. Send Mrs. Rodriguez a picture on Parent Square.
